The Shortcut

You’re not going to wake up one day with the stars perfectly aligned, feeling 100% energized and ready to go, clear in the mind about your direction and inspired to take action — permanently. Life doesn’t work like that — it’s messier.

Sure, you may have an occasional day in this sort of vein, and it’s awesome when it happens. But more often than not, you’ll probably wake up with some of the same old feelings: tired, maybe grumpy, and grumbling about the day and what you’ve got going on.

If you want something to change, you can wait until some outside force acts on you and your life (though you may or may not like what kind of change that brings and you won’t know what it’ll look like until it happens). Or you can start taking actions in the direction you think you want to go and then refine and define your direction (and continually refine and define) as you take your teeny, tiny, baby steps.

It may feel like the second way will take forever and will be a lot of work. And: what if the long way is the shortcut?
