Can we say messy?
Life is messy, by the very nature of it. (Getting my head wrapped around this has been one of my biggest adult learnings.) But then add in the pandemic and its wide ripple effect?
Whoa. That’s all I can say. Whoa.
So suffice it to say, there are probably plenty of problems, challenges, or rough spots you’re facing right now that need to be solved or dealt with. And maybe you’re at the point where it feels like your head will explode. Because there are SO MANY THINGS. And finding what to do next just won’t come easily.
My friend, I feel you. There are SO MANY THINGS.
As I was pondering this today, a few ideas came to mind so I thought I’d make a video. There is a little singing and dance, lots of hand waving (because it clearly helps me think! 😉 ), and hopefully a useful idea or two. Check it out:
If you’re like me and like to see things written out, here are the 3 ideas:
- Dance and/or sing (do both together for maximum impact!)
- Take a deep breath (STOP: Slow down, Take a breath, Observe, Plan and Prioritize: What would I say to someone I love who came to me with this problem/challenge?)
- Try on a better feeling thought (Can you find something you appreciate about the person or situation, even if it’s really small?)
- BONUS: Start early and often (to avoid getting far out on the stuck ledge!)
Staying in the stuck energy of “crap, this problem sucks!”? It’s hard to find a solution there. When we shift our energy just a tad? We’re way more likely to see something we’ve been missing or figure out a next useful step to try.
