Our Terms of Use can be found here: https://robinmassey.com/terms-of-use/

Your privacy is important. Our commitment in this work includes keeping any submitted data (including names and email addresses) safe. Before collection of any personal information, we will identify the purpose for it (e.g., to sign up for a newsletter or leave a comment) and then use it as appropriate. We will retain personal info only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes. For any third party applications used (such as PayPal for payments and MailChimp for newsletters), we strive to find services with the same high standards of privacy.

Who we are

Our website address is: https://robinmassey.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you’re using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

A contact form is located at https://robinmassey.com/contact/. When visitors submit a message, we receive the data shown in the contact form via email; the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string is used to help spam detection. We do not share nor use the data for marketing purposes.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website. If you have questions about another website, please contact the owner of the website in question.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to track website use. We honor Do Not Track (DNT) signals. If you would like to opt-out of Google Analytics tracking across this and all websites you visit, please go to https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. To review Google’s privacy policy, please visit https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personal info unless notified in advance. This does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website or conducting our business, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release information when its release is appropriate to comply with the law.

Third parties we use include the following:

MailChimp: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/
PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For any personal information submitted via a third party application (e.g., MailChimp for our newsletter), users may review/edit their profile and info per that service’s policy. For questions about data retention in another service, please contact the third party.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

For any third party applications, please contact the third party for data deletion.
